Operated by Hugh Woodward (1889-1948), Tule Lake was the most renowned decoy factory on the Pacific Coast. Woodward put his previous building skills to use fabricating decoys out of redwood in three grades: solid, semi-hollow, and hollow. This decoy shows its hollow plug in the breast.
Original paint with moderate gunning wear and some touch-up to flaked areas, mostly along right side and at neck seam.
